Driver' S Way
To receive a driver’s license, permit or ID card there are specific documents that are needed for primary ID, secondary ID, Social Security number and proof of address. The applicant must present to an official at a Motor Vehicle Commission Agency a 6-point ID. To meet this requirement applicants can use the following:. an original, certified birth certificate or valid passport. social security card,. another photo ID such as a school ID with transcript or report card.
To schedule a road test to earn a New Jersey driver’s license you can make an appointment with the online scheduling system. Most drivers in New Jersey may be able to avoid going to the MVC to renew their license through the Skip the Trip mail-in option. As long as you do not have specific restrictions and are not making any changes to your license, you will receive a renewal notice which you can return with payment before your license expires. For vehicle registration renewal, you can go online to complete the renewal process. Vehicle owners may also send in the renewal by mail, or in person at an MVC office.
For registration a new vehicle purchase, you must visit an MVC office. New cars can receive a 4 year registration. To register a used vehicle purchase you will need to go to an MVC office and present the title, odometer reading, pay the sales tax and the $60 registration fee.
